Port Moresby had been awarded the 2015 Pacific Games. PNG Power, concerned for the reliability and integrity of the grid capacity to supply power to the Games venues, sought additional supply reinforcement from ExxonMobil’s PNG LNG plant generators. With less than 30 days from the new 33/66 kV step up transformer, 33kV and 66kV CB’s landing at site, the Voltex team’s commissioning plan assisted to deliver an export of 25MW in time to ensure the Pacific Games venues were a success.
